Joe Biden’s Major Accomplishments

In just over 1 and 1/2 years “Get er Done” Joe accomplished the passage of 4 major bills to strengthen the economy and help millions of Americans improve their lives. When the Republicans took the house by an extremly narrow margin in 2022 all that progress came to a screeching halt and the only thing they could do was argue over who was going to be Speaker of the House or see if they couldn’t find a way to impeach Joe Biden.

In MARCH OF 2021 just 2 months after taking the oath of office, the American Rescue Act was signed into law, (3/11/21) by a vote of 219 to212 in the House and 50 to 49 in the Senate. The major asspects of the 1.9 trillion dollar bill were:

Stimulus payments to individuals with income under 75 thousand and families with income under 150 thousand.

Increased Child Tax credits

Pandemic relief to health care agencies and hospitals

Extended unemployment benifits and grants to small bussiness impacted by COVID shutdowns.

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, 1.2 Trillion dollar bill signed into law, Nov. 15, 2021 whose principal aspects were: Investments in Roads,Bridges,Railways,Sewage treatment upgrades, Broadband, and electric vehicle chargeing stations.

Two more bills were signed into law in August of 2022:

The Chips and Science Act, 280 billion dollars for research and building semi-conductors in the US. and incentives for companies to do so. Also 174 billion for: NASA, Dept. of Energy, and Na. Institute of Standards and Technology.

Inflation Reduction Act, Aug.16, 2022 ......All democrates voted Yes and All Republicans voted No.

1. LOWER COSTS FOR FAMLIES

a) $ 800 anual savings on insurance health premiums for the average family

b) $ 500 savings for clean energy tax credits for 13million families

c) $2000 yearly cap on perscription drug costs for seniors

2. TAXES- making them fairer

a) Bonus tax credits to companies paying pervailing wages & hiring registered apprentices

b) 1% surcharge on corporate stock buy-backs

c) 15% minumum tax on billion dollar corporations

d) 0 tax increase on households earning less than $400 thousand per year

Notes: 1. Congressional Budget Office estimates the act will lower the deficit by $11 billion over 10 years.

Note 2. Congressional research Project estimates greenhouse gases would decrease by 33 to 40% compared to 2005 levels

Note 3. Big Pharma is sueing the Biden Ad. calling their pricing cap for medicare druges a “Takings”

Note 4. CBO estimates these tax reforms will raise 738 billion to the US treasury.
