The purpose of the letter below is to provide you with sample language for your letter to Kevin Kiley.  Please feel free to include whatever feels right to you.  For example, share any personal experiences with the congressman, if it helps make your point. More importantly, share how not having access to reproductive health care has, may have or might in the future affect your life and that of your family.  Send your letter to Placer County Democrats at pcdp.cec@gmail.com by Wednesday, June 12th.  Your letter will be printed and hand-delivered to his office on June 14th.  Then invite your friends to send their own letters! 

Dear Congressman Kiley, 

As your constituent, I’m writing to express my strong disappointment in your lack of support for reproductive freedom. [Insert 1-2 sentences referencing his anti-choice stance found on the fact sheet.] 

• FOR EXAMPLE: Your support for a 15-week abortion ban and the Life Begins at Conception Act is not representative of the views of your constituents in CA-03 or a majority of Americans.  In fact, states with such laws have a 62% higher maternal mortality rate than states that don’t restrict access to reproductive health care.  Further, states that have life begins at conception laws are now attempting to ban IVF and birth control.  

Everyone deserves to make their own decisions about their bodies and futures. People in CA-03 and throughout California should be able to access the reproductive health care they need—without political interference from the government or elected officials.

Reproductive freedom is a fundamental freedom, and it's also something the majority of your constituents support. I hope you remember that when future reproductive freedom bills are up for votes in Congress.
